Dear Classmate,
Now that a new class of Tulanians has graduated and begun their lives as alumni, I want to remind you that the celebration marking the 50th year of our own graduation from Tulane and Newcomb is rapidly approaching. As you know, the Wave ’08 All-Alumni Reunion Party celebrating the success of Promise & Distinction: The Campaign for Tulane, occurs on campus at 6pm Friday evening October 3rd. There are several big events scheduled for the weekend, including the homecoming game against Army on Saturday at 2pm. Tailgating festivities will be held at Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park, an excellent location to reconnect with old friends!
Please also mark your calendar for the Emeritus Club event—the classes of 1958, 1953, 1948, 1943, 1937 and 1933 will enjoy a cocktail reception at the home of Tulane’s President Dr. Scott Cowen at 4:30pm on October 2. We enjoyed gathering at the Audubon Tea Room for the Emeritus Club Awards Luncheon last month with 155 alumni present. Everyone had a great time! I hope you will return to New Orleans to share this spectacular reunion weekend with us.
And, last but not least, don’t forget to make your contribution to the Class of 1958 Reunion Class Gift. Last year, the 50-year reunion class gave $616,737. To date, 134 of our classmates have contributed a total of $290,606 toward our class goal. All Tulane Fund contributions made by the end of the calendar year will be counted.
