Can you believe that the 45th anniversary of our graduation is already here? Our alma mater has changed so much since our years on campus. For those who have not returned recently, I am eager for you to see the new Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life and the many ways in which the campus has grown. One thing that always stands out at our reunions is seeing how much our classmates have accomplished. I’m proud of our class, and I certainly hope that everyone will come back for our reunion this fall to renew old friendships and to see what is going on at the university.
The Wave ’08 All-Alumni Reunion Party, celebrating the success of Promise & Distinction: The Campaign for Tulane, will open the weekend on the evening of Friday, October 3rd. You can certainly expect terrific food and delightful New Orleans entertainment at the reunion party. University staff are collecting photos and memorabilia for a special “Memory Lane” exhibit – please send any that you would like to include to
or to the address below. There are several other exciting events scheduled for the weekend, including the homecoming game against Army on Saturday. Take a look at our class page on the reunion website at http://reunions.tulane.edu/ for more details and video footage from last year’s event. I do hope that you will circle the date on your calendars and plan to attend.
Last year, the 45th reunion class gave $374,530, and I hope that you will help us top their gift. To date, 117 of our classmates have contributed a total of $106,267 towards our class of ‘63 goal of $450,000. Contributions made to the Tulane Fund until the end of the calendar year will be counted toward the class of 1963 gift. Remember that gifts to the Tulane Fund are put to use immediately to support students, faculty, and programs. I would especially like to urge all Newcomb alumnae to follow my example in supporting the Newcomb Institute to preserve the heritage of strong women’s programs at the university. Please consider giving back in a way appropriate to marking the 45th anniversary of our graduation from Newcomb and Tulane.
You can make a donation by returning the enclosed pledge card, calling 504-865-5794 or 888-265-7576, or online at http://www.tulane.edu/~giving/#gift . I look forward to seeing you in October!
Sincerely,

Martha Kimmerling, N’63
