Dear Classmate,
As the members of the class of 2008 leave Tulane and begin their lives as alumni, we are writing to ask you to come back to campus and remember your college days. The university was a very important part of our lives, and we are proud of the excellent standing that it has achieved in New Orleans and throughout the country. Just as there were many changes during our time on campus – 1964 through 1968 were turbulent years – there have been many since we left. Reunions are a great opportunity to come back and re-connect to each other and our alma mater.
The Wave ’08 All-Alumni Reunion Party, celebrating the success of Promise & Distinction: The Campaign for Tulane, will open the weekend on the evening of Friday, October 3rd. If you haven’t heard, the reunion party is a first-rate culinary experience with quintessentially New Orleans entertainment. Tulane staff are collecting photos and memorabilia for a special “Memory Lane” exhibit – please send any that you would like to include to kcase@tulane.edu at the address below. There are several other exciting events scheduled for the weekend, including the homecoming game against Army on Saturday where there will be a reunion tent for members of our class to continue to reminisce. Take a look through this reunion website for more details and video footage from last year’s event – and please mark your calendars and plan to attend.
Last year, the 40th reunion class reached their giving goal, and I hope that you will help us to reach ours as well. To date, 165 of our classmates have donated a total of $183,821. Contributions made to the Tulane Fund until the end of the calendar year will be counted toward the class of 1968 gift. Remember that gifts to the Tulane Fund are put to use immediately to support students, faculty, and programs so that the university can continue to provide an excellent undergraduate experience. Please consider giving back in a way appropriate to marking the 40th anniversary of our graduation.
You can make a donation by returning the enclosed pledge card, calling 504-865-5794 or 888-265-7576, or online. We look forward to seeing you in October!
Sincerely,
