Dear Classmate,

Can you believe it has already been 20 years since our graduation from Tulane? Do you remember those warm Friday afternoons spent resting on the quad, listening to the Neville Brothers and the Radiators? When we arrived as freshmen, New Orleans was hosting the World’s Fair, and right after we graduated, George Bush named Dan Quayle as his running mate at the Republican National Convention in the Superdome.

So much has changed! Now, students spend their afternoons in the Reily Student Recreation Center and are heavily involved in community service projects throughout the city. Despite the hurricane, Tulane looks great, admissions are highly competitive, and the campus has seen some wonderful improvements. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to go back to your alma mater during a beautiful time of year for a first-hand glimpse of what the school is like today?

The Wave ’08 All-Alumni Reunion Party, celebrating the success of Promise & Distinction: The Campaign for Tulane, will open the reunion weekend on the evening of Friday, October 3rd. University staff are collecting photos and memorabilia for a special “Memory Lane” exhibit – please send any that you would like to include to kcase@tulane.edu or to the address below. There are several other exciting events scheduled for the weekend, including the homecoming game against Army on Saturday. Take a look at our 20th reunion class page on the new reunions website http://reunions.tulane.edu for details.

Last year, the 20th reunion class gave $343,107, and I hope that you will help us top their gift. To date, 146 of our classmates have contributed a total of $120,270 towards our class goal of $275,000. All contributions made by you to the Tulane Fund until the end of the calendar year will be counted as a reunion gift — remember that gifts are put to use immediately to support students, faculty, and programs. If you want to see Tulane thrive, not just survive, then remember to participate with us and even the smallest amount makes a difference. Please consider giving back in a way appropriate to marking the 20th anniversary of our graduation from Tulane. You can make a donation by returning the enclosed pledge card, calling 504-865-5794 or 888-265-7576, or going online at http://reunions.tulane.edu. I look forward to seeing you in October!

Sincerely,
